This is an absolute collector’s item for vintage Rolex enthusiasts! The case is made entirely of 18k yellow gold and features the iconic fluted bezel. The watch has the classic Day-Date diameter of 36mm. However, it is the dial that makes this particular model so special. Instead of a smooth, glossy surface, the dial of this watch features a beautiful, delicate texture that resembles woven fabric (“linen dial”). The dial is adorned with applied gold hour markers and the two famous windows (day & date). The 18038 was the first Day-Date to be equipped with modern, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This reference also introduced a major technical improvement over its predecessor: the Rolex Caliber 3055 automatic movement with Single Quickset. Supplied on a leather strap.
