Ref. 116520 marks the transition to the modern era of the Daytona. It is the very first Daytona to be equipped with a chronograph movement developed entirely in-house by Rolex (in-house caliber 4130). The case measures the traditional 40 mm in diameter. The watch is made entirely of stainless steel and features a polished bezel with an engraved tachymeter scale. The dial is white, and the three sub-dials stand out thanks to their refined, silver-colored rims. It is also what is known as an “APH dial”*. It comes on the robust Oyster bracelet with the New-Style Oysterlock clasp, including the convenient Easylink.

This watch dates from 2009 and comes with the original Rolex certificate.

* An “APH dial” is a sought-after printing error on the dial of the steel Rolex Daytona ref. 116520, produced between approximately 2009 and 2015. When printing “COSMOGRAPH,” an extra space was accidentally inserted between “COSMOGR” and “APH.” Since Rolex almost never makes mistakes, these dials are extremely rare.
