The Rolex GMT-Master ref. 16700 is an important 'neo vintage' model within Rolex's legendary GMT-Master line, produced from 1988 to 1999. It is the last generation of the original GMT-Master (i.e., not the 'II' variant). This was also the first GMT-Master model to come standard with scratch-resistant sapphire glass. The 16700 on sale here has a glossy black dial with white gold rimmed hour markers filled with Luminova and a sought-after 'Pepsi' bezel. The bezel is bidirectional and displays an additional time zone via the centrally placed arrow hand. Unlike the GMT-Master II, the 16700 has a 'traditional' GMT function. This means that the 24-hour hand is paired with the 12-hour hand. The watch is powered by the cal. 3175 automatic movement, which also features a date function. This 16700 comes with the sporty Oyster strap.
